Supporting our military includes supporting veterans as well as active duty personnel. As men and women return from war the results of living in a highly stressful and violent atmosphere can lead to many ongoing heath issues. This includes struggling with mental health difficulties. In an open letter VFW Commander-in-Chief Glen Gardner addresses the need to end stigma in our military. His message is thought provoking, and the statistics he includes are dramatic. Please read his letter and follow some of the links we have porvided for additional information.
The Wall Street Journal also featured an article discussing the use of social networking sites by veterans, including a social networking site that is similar to MySpace and Facebook, but can only be accessed by veterans.  Read the article here.  The link to the social networking site is in the article and on the Veterans' Links page on this site.
